๐๐โค๏ธ๐ July is Disability Pride Month ๐โค๏ธ๐๐๐ค
ย
At Girls Chronically Rock, we wear our disabilities with PRIDE. This month is about visibility, power, and embracing our identities, unapologetically.
ย
The Disability Pride Flag colors each tell part of our story:
ย
๐ฅ Red for physical disabilities
๐ก Gold for neurodivergence and cognitive disabilities
๐ฆ Blue for mental illness and psychiatric disabilities
๐ข Green for sensory disabilities (blindness, deafness, etc.)
โฌ Black for mourning and rage, honoring those weโve lost and those who still fight for equity and justice.
ย
To me, each color is personal. I live this every day, through my journey with Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy, through my brand, and through the movement weโre building. Disability pride means showing up boldly, even when systems werenโt built for us. It means claiming our space, in fashion, in business, in politics, in media, in EVERYTHING.
ย
๐ช๐ฝ We are strong. We are creative. We are changemakers.
And we rock, chronically.
